One of the more common moving tips is to declutter before packing. But this video goes a step further. It offers tips on how someone can move sustainably without waste. One great tip is to donate but to do so with care. Many charity shops receive a lot of donations and don't have the capability to sort through everything.
Instead, movers can sort everything that needs to be donated themselves. Sites such as Zealous Good allow donators to list items for donation that local organizations can then come and pick up.
Another tip is to use up everything before the moving company gets there. This refers to the food in the fridge but also what is used to pack. Instead of getting more boxes to pack clothes in, why not use laundry bins, tote bags, or suitcases? Movers can also get moving boxes (for free or at a small cost) from other people by checking platforms such as Facebook Marketplace or just asking around at the local shops. It's also possible to rent moving boxes/crates so that they get reused over and over again. The last tip is to leave some decluttering for after the move since some items may be useful. Don't overdo the decluttering.
