After cleaning all the dirtiest spots, moisten the entire surface with a hose and an etcher around the surface, then use your brush to scrub the floor. The etching can improve concrete to create a better surface for the epoxy to adhere to it. To get started, you'll need a brush, roller, and a two-part solvent-based epoxy, since epoxies made of solvents have a strong binding and are exceptionally long-lasting. Use your roller to apply a nice, level coat of epoxy to the remaining portions of the floor after finishing the trim. It will take a second coat to finish the floor. Complete the trimming, and then use the roller to fill the remaining spaces. If you're adding flakes to the finishing, sprinkle them on as soon as you've finished painting each region to give your finished floor a terrazzo-like finish.
