Questions To Ensure You Find The Best Local Masonry Contractors
Masonry restoration and repair is needed following bad storms, earth movement, or simply old age. Video host Jeremiah Campbell tells us what questions to ask potential local masonry contractors.
1. Credentials. Licenses, certification from Mason Contractors Association of America, and worker's comp and liability insurance.
Ask to see this paperwork and call the licensing and insurance boards to make sure the contractor's legitimate.
2. Experience. The contractor might not be experienced with every little thing, so ask for references.
3. Specialty. A contractor should only do repair and restoration.
4. Materials. Make sure the contractor can and does match the mortar and mix it on-site to what was originally used on the house.
5. Time. How long will the project take? The contractor shouldn’t leave for another project and should call you when bad weather will stop the work. The whole project should take around six weeks.
6. Cost. Lowball pricing most always costs more down the road. Go with the contractor that doesn’t do that.
7. Post-construction cleanup. Make sure the person who makes the mess cleans it up. Otherwise, your lawn could cost a fortune to repair.
Value is the name of the game. You don’t have enough hard-earned money to spend on a sub-standard job. Ask these questions to ensure you get a quality job at the right price.
