1. Shingle curling
The first sign is when your shingle starts curling at the edges. In this video, we learn that shingle curls for various reasons. Sometimes because of weather conditions. But sometimes because the roof has been around for many years. As the roof reaches the 12 to 15-year mark, it would usually be widespread.
2. Nail pops

3. Granule loss
Granule shingles come from fiberglass mats and asphalt. The two properties are usually not visible from the ground. They are covered by mineral granules, which deflect UV rays and protect your roof.
